21 Hissterical Memes of Liquid Cats in Solid Predicaments

Posted by Sarah Brown

Household physics confirms it: cats act like liquids with audacious surface tension. One minute they're a dignified loaf, the next they've poured through a whisker-width gap into a cabinet, tote bag, or cereal box labeled "Do Not Enter." If it says "If I fits, I sits," they treat it like statute law and file in purrson.

Liquid logic creates situations. Blinds become lasagna noodles. Laundry hampers turn into submarines. Sofa springs host unauthorized spelunking. Someone discovers the "impossible" space behind the fridge and announces it with a muffled mrrrrp. The home Meowntain Rescue Team mobilizes: treats as grappling hooks, a chair shifted two inches, gentle reverse-beeping for morale. After extraction, the cat blinks like, "I meant to do that," then promptly oozes into a shoebox the size of a sandwich.

Prevention helps, but curiosity has excellent flow rates. Close the washer, cap the trash, block the voids, and stock patience, snacks, and a towel for dignity wraps. Cats may be liquid, but they're buoyant in love. Every rescue ends with a relieved laugh, a slow blink, and a promise to patch the next portal.

21 Cats in Water Making a Splash for End of Summer

Posted by Briana Viser

Cats and water don't usually mix. Cats and couches, fine. Cats and blankets, great. Cats and trees, yup, they absolutely love it. But water? If I accidently drip water on my cat after I shower he bolts to the other room in fear and chaos. But if all cats hate water, then how does one explain these adorable photos of cats in water? Some look miserable, and some look not so miserable. There's something so cute about a wet cat, all covered in water.

Some of these feline swimmers are striking, bold, and brazen in the water. They're floating in the pool like they've been practicing their backstroke for years. Others are less graceful, perched on the edge of a tub or fountain with wide, suspicious eyes, as though they're regretting their life choices. Either way, their wet whiskers, fluffy tails turn into skinny noodles.

Summer is coming to a close, and whether you're celebrating or grieving the season these cat photos will make you feel all the better.

'Leave a horrible review': Feline pawrent leaves her kitty with 5-star cat sitter while on vacation

Posted by Blake Seidel

In this day and age, there is no reason not to get your cat spayed or neutered. There are too many cats and kittens in the world that need homes as it is, we don't need your indoor cat escaping to get pregnant and bring eight more into the world. For all of your friends who would take a kitten, they are pawsitively invited to go to a shelter and adopt one of their own. When it's your mistake, it's one thing, but when someone else lets your cat get pregnant, it's a whole other thing entirely. Let alone a "professional" who you paid to watch your cat while you were on vacation.

It's hard enough to find someone you trust enough to leave your cat with while you're away. It's your baby. You know all of their little quirks and desires purrfectly. So if you don't have a feline-loving friend, your next best bet is to go with a purrfessional cat sitter…. or so you would think. After leaving her cat with a well-reviewed local pet sitter for two months, the cat mom in this post came back to find her 8-month-old cat very pregnant. Livid would not even begin to describe how angry we would be. We wouldn't pay, and we would 100% leave a terrible review. That's not simply an accident… that's negligence.

Pets are a line that no one is allowed to cross. We have seen friendships break over mistreatment of cats. We have seen relationships crumble because one of the partners wouldn't get along with the family cats. So, it is no surprise to us that the final straw in this story was the cat and dog of the house. You can put up with a lot, but once people start unjustifiably accusing you of mistreating your pets, that is where you put your foot down.

And it truly sounds like this woman put up with a lot and was patient for a long time, but listen… living with your mother and father-in-law for years on end without an end date would be hard for anyone, especially if they are as ungrateful as these two sound. This is a complicated situation, we will grant you that, but the solution seems quite obvious. It is just not going to be quite that simple to make happen.

'And this is Uncle Woofus': Meowther cat introduces her only kitten to her best friend: A gentle 80-

Posted by Jesse Kessenheimer

Cats and dogs rarely get along, but when they do, they forge the most purrfectly adorable friendship. Big, floppy, and silly doggos make their feline counterparts appear to be extra graceful and mysterious, while cats bring out the sweetest forms of their 4-legged buddies. This cat meowther of a solo kitten decided to introduce her precious baby to her best friend: An enormous, yet gentle pitbull.

This dog certainly had his day when he realized he was becoming good ol' Uncle Woofus to the tiny kitten that his bestie created. Because all animals understand the cuteness of a new member of the family, and this dynamic duo just turned into a trio when one cat mother raised a new member of the pack.

Mod Post: Off-Topic Tuesday

In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like.

Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat among yourselves.

The intent of these posts is to chat and have some fun and, sure, vent a little as required. Reasoned debate is fine, as always, but if you have to ask if something is going over the line, think carefully before posting please.

Normal board rules about conduct and behaviour still apply, of course.

It's been suggested that, if discussing spoilers for recent media events, it might be advisable to consider using the rot13 method to prevent other members seeing spoilers in passing.

The world situation is the world situation. If you're following the news, you know it as much as I do, if you're not, then there are better sources than scans_daily. But please, no doomscrolling, for your own sake.

There are about a half dozen, deeply concerning, US political points I could make on healthcare and vaccines alone (to pick a subject at random), but I suspect you don't me to raise them.

British bargain-bin-Trump-wannabe Farage, appeared in front of a committee in the US Congress, it did not go well for him, though it has to be noted that the UK media did not cover the excoriation bit much, which is a shame.

Those missing Star Trek Prodigy may (or may not) be consoled at knowing there is a new animated Trek in town, albeit one with a rather different target audience, "Star Trek Scouts" . I can't wait for TrekCultures "Ups and Downs" on THIS one! :)

And this weekend JemCon seemed like a good time to release the new synthwave re-recording of "Glitter and Gold"

'I kidnapped my neighbor’s friendly cat because I confused it for my own': DoorDash escapade leads t

Posted by Sarah Brown

This is a case of misstaken identity. A WFH hooman in a duplex lives with Pickles, a grey tabby famous for side-eye and a purr rate of zero. During a DoorDash delivery, Pickles slips outside. Hours later, scratch-scratch at the door announces a grey tabby return. This cat is unusually sweet, curls on the couch, and fires up a tiny motor. That isn't Pickles' brand, but the hooman blames a life-changing squirrel seminar and welcomes Pickles 2.0.

The next day, the neighbor arrives in a panic asking about Smokey, a friendly grey tabby who purrs at air and dreams of tuna. Eyes drift to the windowsill. The "reformed" Pickles is clearly Smokey, copycat in every sense. Apologies happen, paperwork gets mewved, and Smokey is escorted home after a very thorough surprise sleepover.

An hour later, the real Pickles clomps in leaf-dusted and unimpressed, reclaiming his post as Chief Judge of Everything. Scoreboard: one accidental catnapping, two near-twins, maximum embarrassment, and a renewed respect for microchips, tags, and knowing a cat's signature scowl. Order restored. Pickles resumes glaring. The hooman resumes laughing.

21 Hissterical Memes of Cat Obsessed Pawrents Snapping Purrfect Pics

Posted by Sarah Brown

Pawrents know the truth: the camera roll is 98 percent cat and 2 percent screenshots of treats. Every day becomes a pawtrait session. We chase the perfect whisker focus, the mid-blep masterpiece, the museum-quality loaf. Burst mode exists to capture zoomies, which mostly produces abstract art titled "Living Room Blur." Portrait mode calls the meowdel a "person" and we nod because royalty, obviously.

Lighting? Sunbeam o'clock is golden hour. Night shots are void kitty studies with two mysterious headlights. The 0.5x lens turns a snoot into a gentle planet. Live Photos catch the surprise sneeze, the offended ear twitch, and the post-nap stretch that wins Best In Show. We adjust the hisstogram like purrfessionals and still forget the lens has a nose print.

Albums multiply: "Cat," "Cat 2," "Cat FINAL," "Cat FINAL FINAL." Storage warnings appear. We delete three identical photos, then take twelve more because the chin changed by one molecule. Treat bribes secure eye contact while feather wands secure chaos. Friends ask for updates and we respond with a 47-image slideshow and a single caption: "He sat."

Life's too short not to over-document the floof. Snap early, snap often, pet between takes.

A Pumpkin Spice Latte Dump of Orange Cats Waiting for You to Drink Them Up

Posted by Briana Viser

It's September, and everyone knows what that means. It's the beginning of spooky season, pumpkin season, and cozy season. Wherever you fair better, in fear, in snuggles, or in orange, these cute and scrumptious orange cat memes are sure to get you in the spirit of the new season. Autumn is my favorite season because it brings new life to the barren heat of summer. New life can also resemble decay, in which you get falling leaves and browning of greenery.

Pumpkin spice season is officially here, and what better way to celebrate than with orange cats who are basically the second best thing to your spiced pumpkin latte from your favorite local cafe? You put on your soft sweater for the first time this season, your cat hair all over it from last winter, and go outside to order your favorite flavored drink. Orange cats are not just cute, they're special for their unique color. Get yourself your pumpkin pie, latte, pasta, dessert, and anything else while you stroke your pretty orange cat and scroll through cat memes.

25 Wholesome Photos of Cute Cat Children Chilling in their Beautiful Baby Onesies

Posted by Laurent Shinar

Look, we get it, being a feline pawrent and having to put up with people telling you to your face that your cat is not your biological child is tough. In fact, it is far worse than tough, it inspires blind fury, especially when there is no retort you can throw back into these peoples' faces. But now, with this list, you have a URL to throw in their face that will send their argument flying all over the place.

For you see, this collection of cute cat children wearing their beautiful baby onesies is great for two things. First, it shows that cats can be just like kids, even down to wearing the exact same clothing. And second, it gives buckets of legitimacy to dressing up your catto in whatever colorful ways you may see fit without worrying about the judgey eyes of society. So pour yourself another coffee and get ready shove those snotty remarks that Noreen keeps jabbing you with down her doggo obsessed throat.

'My [cat] literally just moved himself in': The online feline family share how their former-feral ca

Posted by Ayala Sorotsky

All cat people know - every cat deserves love, care, and a place to call home. Cats are such affectionate creatures, full of love just waiting to be given. And another thing every cat person knows, is that we're all here ready to recive that love from cats. It's a meowgical phenomenon, and if you're a cat person, you definitely know it. The magic of cats is their love, and they just want a home to give it in.

And cats know this themselves. How do we know it? Because cats make it very clear. Some feral strays are begging to be adopted, both because they know a loving home is the place to be, and because they know this is where they can give their cat meowgic to the hearty hoomans who adopted them.

One such new cat pawrent shared their story of their cat adoption - a strictly stray orange who was extremely hungry, ate whatever the kind person could give him, and decided: "This is a suitable place. I live here now." Such as he is. The entire online feline family shared their own stories of how street cats basically adopted them. Or, more accurately, adopted themselves into their homes. We're rooting for these brave cats adopting themselves.
